Simplified Landing Permit Processes at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (IATA: NBO, ICAO: HKJK) through Just Aviation

To fly into or depart from Kenya, all aircraft must make their first landing or final departure at an international aerodrome/heliport or any other aerodrome notified for entry and exit. Applications for landing permits must be submitted to the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) at least 48 hours before the scheduled arrival time. For overflight permits, applications must be submitted at least 72 hours before the scheduled departure time. Landing permits are valid for 24 hours.

When applying for a landing permit, the following documents may be required in PDF format, depending on the flight’s category: Pilot’s Licence, Certificate of Airworthiness, Certificate of Insurance, Air Operator’s Certificate (mandatory for commercial operations), Certificate of Registration, Certificate of Release to Service, Passenger Manifest (if passengers are on board), Airway Bill/Cargo Manifest (if carrying cargo), Dangerous Goods Transport Documents (if applicable), and Approval to Transport Dangerous Goods from the relevant authority.
