Efficient and Compliant Landing Permits at Chicago Executive Airport (PWK) with Just Aviation

Chicago Executive Airport operates with CBP inspection services generally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in accordance with official permission-to-land procedures. Regular office hours are Monday–Friday, 1100–1900 CT. Operators arriving from international locations must contact CBP prior to departing the foreign airport and at least two hours before the expected arrival to obtain landing permission. Approved landing times include a ±15-minute tolerance, and any deviation beyond this window requires renewed authorization. Commercial operators departing the U.S. must arrange outbound clearance directly with CBP.

Upon arrival, aircraft should park on the FIS ramp within the CBP Security Area and follow guidance from the airport control tower if needed. A CBP officer meets the aircraft to conduct inspections, during which crew and passengers are processed inside the FIS. Operators must have passports, visas, licenses, medical certificates, aircraft registration, and user fee decals ready for verification. Regulated waste and garbage are collected by the FBO, and passengers re-board the aircraft after inspection. Requests for CBP clearance must be made in advance by speaking directly with the Duty Officer; APIS transmissions, emails, or voicemails are not sufficient. Flights outside regular hours require arrangements by 5:00 PM on the prior business day, and operators should notify CBP if transporting live animals, weapons, or hunting trophies.
