The Belize Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) issues air navigation bills directly to local agents submitting overflight permit requests. Officially, no CAA processing fees apply for Belize Overflight Permits.

Aircraft owners/operators intending to fly in Belize airspace must request overflight clearance from the Air Transport Department at least 48 working hours before the scheduled departure. The request should include the Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) on the flight plan. Overfly permits are required for overflights in Belize.

Belize adheres to the Chicago Convention and ICAO's general rules for international air traffic. Flights and crews must strictly comply, including the transport of troops, equipment, materials, and dangerous goods.
