In Bangladesh, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) has established specific rules, regulations, and procedures for aircraft permits, whether it be for landing or entering their airspace. Prior Permission is mandatory, and the application process requires comprehensive flight information and aircraft documents.
To fly in Bangladesh airspace, aircraft owners/operators must submit a request for a Bangladesh Overflight Permit to the air transport department at least 48 working hours prior to the scheduled departure. The request should include the AFTN on the flight plan. However, an overfly permit from Bangladesh is only required.
The issued overflight permit number must be inserted in Item 18 of the submitted Flight Plan. An example of a Bangladesh Overflight Permit is BD116, issued on 07-Jan-2019. The official fee for the issuance of the permit is "209 USD CAA Processing Fees." These overflight permits are valid for a duration of +72 hours from the initially requested schedule.
Air operators using the FIR in Bangladesh are required to obtain Air Defence Clearance. If you need assistance with this process, Just Aviation can help you acquire the clearance on your behalf. To initiate the procedure, we only require the ICAO departure Flight Plan (FPL) along with the permit details.
