Overflight and Landing Permits in Tunisia’s International Operations
In order to obtain overflight and landing permits for Tunisia, there are several considerations and required details that aircraft operators must keep in mind. The process for obtaining Tunisia overflight and landing permits involves the following key elements:
- Complete Flight Schedule
- Entry Point and Exit Point
- All Passenger Details
- Consignee and Consignor Details
It’s crucial to note that the overflight permit number issued by Tunisia, identified as DGAC 20/007/08, must be accurately inserted in Item 18 of the submitted Flight Plan. The Tunisia Civil Aviation Authority, also known as OACA, is the responsible authority for issuing these permits. Tunisia does not impose any processing fees by its Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for the issuance of overflight permits. However, operators must adhere to the permit’s validity period, typically set at 24 hours from the initially requested schedule. For cargo flights to Tunisia, the CAA may require operators to submit a copy of the cargo manifest or Air Waybill (AWB) as part of the application process.
Tunisia’s airspace is organized into a single Flight Information Region (FIR), and the issuance of air navigation bills is directly handled by the Tunisia Civil Aviation Authority. It’s important to consider the working hours of the Tunisia Civil Aviation Authority, which are from 0700Z to 1200Z. Additionally, please note that these hours are from 0700Z to 1600Z.
