Gambia enforces a strict prior permission requirement for all types of flights, including private, general aviation, charter, scheduled, non-scheduled, passengers, cargo, technical, or traffic landing. Applications for Gambia overflight clearance must be submitted to the air transport department at least 48 working hours before your planned flight.

Additionally, Gambia Airports Authority has its own regulations for passenger flights and technical stops, which may involve permit fees.
