Overflight Permits in CAR’s International Operations
When planning business aviation operations in the Central African Republic (CAR), obtaining overflight permits is crucial. To obtain an overflight permit for the CAR, you must provide a complete flight schedule, including details of your entry and exit points. For passenger flights, ensure you submit all passenger information, while cargo flights require consignee and consigner details. Additionally, make sure you have the required aircraft documents, including the Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC), Certificate of Airworthiness (COA), Certificate of Registration (COR), and Certificate of Insurance (COI). The issued overflight permit number must be inserted in Item 18 of your submitted Flight Plan.
Landing Permits in CAR’s International Operations
When planning landings in the CAR, landing permits are essential. To acquire these permits, submit a comprehensive flight plan and adhere to specific requirements. Your flight schedule should include entry and exit points, with all passenger details for passenger flights and consignee and consignor information for cargo flights.
For overflight permits, the processing fees vary based on urgency and flight type:
- Standard Overflight Permit: 72 hours before departure, 72 Euro per leg.
- Urgent Overflight Permit: 24 hours before departure, 228 Euro per leg.
- Top Urgent Overflight Permit: 1 hour before departure, 440 Euro per leg.
The validity of Central Africa overflight permits is +24 hours from the initially requested schedule. CAR’s airspace consists of one Flight Information Region (FIR) with the ICAO code “FCCC.” The Central Africa Civil Aviation Authority operates from 0630Z to 1430Z, with weekends observed on Saturday and Sunday.
