Turkey has established its own specific rules, regulations, and procedures for granting permits to aircraft intending to land or enter its airspace. Whether one is conducting a private flight, general aviation, charter flight, scheduled or non-scheduled operation, passenger or cargo trip, technical or traffic landing, it is mandatory to obtain Prior Permission.

When submitting the Flight Plan, it is crucial to include the issued overflight permit number in Item 18.

An example of a Turkey overfly permit number is CA-T457.

Turkey overflight permits are valid for a duration of 72 hours from the initially requested schedule.

The airspace of Turkey is currently divided into two Flight Information Regions (FIR).

For the issuance of overflight permits, the responsibility lies with the Turkey Civil Aviation Authority.

The Turkey CAA will directly send the air navigation bill to the airline or operator through "Euro Control."

The working hours of the Turkey Civil Aviation Authority are from 0600Z to 1400Z.
