    FACTS

to consider for Kazakhstan International Flight Operations

The Kazakhstan Civil Aviation has simplified the process for overflights, eliminating the requirement to submit "Aircraft Documents" for obtaining an overflight permit, except for flights involving "Dangerous Cargo - [DGR]." This regulation was implemented on August 16, 2017. Now, a notification for an overflight permit needs to be sent 24 hours prior to the intended date of flight, along with an ATC Flight Plan, in accordance with the Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Regulation.

In order to obtain a landing permit in Kazakhstan, operators are typically required to submit a completed application form, provide detailed flight information, possess a valid Air Operator Certificate (AOC) or equivalent, present aircraft registration documents, insurance certificate, pilot licenses, and medical certificates, along with other necessary documents, and pay the applicable fees.

The Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan is the regulatory body overseeing and governing civil aviation activities in Kazakhstan.

The issued flight permit number must be inserted in Item 18 of the submitted Flight Plan.

There are no Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) processing fees applied for the issuance of Kazakhstan Overflight Permits.

The Overflight Permit Notification is valid for the requested Date Of Flight and the ATC flight plan.

The airspace of Kazakhstan is currently divided into six Flight Information Regions (FIR).

Jet A-1 aviation fuel is available at airports in Kazakhstan.
