Indonesia, as a country, has its own comprehensive set of rules, regulations, and procedures in place for obtaining permits for aircraft wishing to enter their airspace.

In Indonesia, airports operate on a slot coordination system, requiring operators to undergo coordination and allocation processes to schedule and obtain slots.

The authority responsible for overflight permits in Indonesia is the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The Indonesia Overflight Permit number is designated as SA0587. It is worth noting that there are no Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) processing fees officially applied for the issuance of Indonesia Overflight Permits.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) requires tail-specific approval for aircraft registrations. Therefore, operators must provide a list of aircraft registrations they intend to apply for. Additionally, the submission of a General Declarations Form (GENDEC) is mandatory, along with obtaining approval from the air force.

Indonesia overflight permits are valid for a duration of +96 hours from their initially requested schedule. Currently, the airspace of Indonesia is divided into two flight information regions (FIRs).

When submitting a flight plan, it is important to include the issued overflight permit number in Item 18.

The Indonesia Civil Aviation Authority will directly issue the air navigation bill to the respective airline/operator. Their working hours are from 0200Z to 1000Z.

In terms of aviation fuel, Jet A-1 is available at airports throughout Indonesia.
