Overflight and Landing Permits in Guinea’s International Operations

Equatorial Guinea enforces its own set of rules and procedures for obtaining aircraft permits, whether for landing or entering its airspace. This requirement applies to various types of flight operations, including private, general aviation, charter, scheduled, or non-scheduled flights, whether for passengers or cargo. A prior permission is obligatory and necessitates the submission of comprehensive flight information and aircraft documents.

To fly in Moroccan airspace, aircraft owners/operators must submit a request for overflight clearance to the air transport department at least 48 working hours before the scheduled departure. The key details required include a complete flight schedule, entry and exit points, all passenger details, and consignee and consignor details. It is also essential to include the AFTN (Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network) on the flight plan, although only an overfly permit is required from Morocco. The authority responsible for these permits is the Morocco Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA). The issued overflight permit number should be inserted in Item 18 of the submitted Flight Plan. The specific overflight permit number for Morocco is S4533, and notably, no processing fees are imposed by the Civil Aviation Authority for the issuance of Morocco Overflight Permits.

Handler Information is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a landing permit in Morocco, and these permits remain valid for 24 hours from the initially requested schedule. Moroccan airspace currently falls under one flight information region (FIR). The Morocco Civil Aviation Authority will directly issue the air navigation bill to the respective airline/operator, and this process is facilitated through EUROCONTROL. The working hours of the Morocco Civil Aviation Authority are from 0900Z to 1500Z.
