    Facts

At STL, Consistent Fueling Keeps Aircraft Moving

    check

The DEF STAN 91-91 and ASTM D1655 standards guide Jet A-1 fuel's formulation, supporting compliance with IATA and FAA aviation guidelines.

    check

Jet A-1 fuel delivers up to 30% fuel savings for business jets, enhancing efficiency at high altitudes. Its freeze point of -47°C and flashpoint of 38°C (100°F) make it suitable for extreme operational conditions. Derived from kerosene and boasting an energy density of 34.7 MJ/kg, it reduces refueling needs, with a boiling range between 150°C and 250°C ensuring reliable performance.

    check

Optimizing fuel consumption reduces refueling times by up to 15% in business aviation, enabling faster aircraft transitions and more precise flight schedules. By adjusting fuel compositions, engine thrust improves by 2-3%, enhancing takeoff and high-altitude performance. Real-time monitoring further enhances operational efficiency by 5%, leading to cost reductions. A 5-7% fuel margin ensures compliance with safety regulations and provides room for diversions.

St. Louis Lambert International Airport (IATA: STL, ICAO: KSTL) is the largest and busiest airport in Missouri, serving the metropolitan St. Louis area. Commonly referred to as Lambert Field or simply Lambert, it is a vital aviation hub for the state.

    check

The airport features four runways: 12R/30L is the longest at 11,020 feet (3,359 meters), followed by 12L/30R at 9,013 feet (2,747 meters), 11/29 at 9,000 feet (2,743 meters), and 6/24 at 7,603 feet (2,317 meters). All runways have concrete surfaces to support a wide range of aircraft operations. In 2023, the airport recorded 162,113 aircraft operations and welcomed 14,886,000 passengers. It has two terminals, five concourses, and a total of 54 gates. Terminal 1 hosts 36 gates across Concourse A and Concourse C, while Terminal 2 includes 18 gates in Concourse E. Passengers can transfer between terminals using shuttle buses or the MetroLink rail system, with free rail service between terminals available as of July 2024. Operational guidelines include specific restrictions on certain taxiways. Taxiway November is limited to aircraft with a wingspan under 79 feet (e.g., CRJ-900 or smaller) when aircraft are parked on the November Pad, and all operations in this area are prohibited during engine run-ups. Taxiway Victor is restricted to aircraft with a tail height of 25 feet or less (e.g., CRJ-700 or smaller) when landing on Runway 12L. Additionally, on Taxiway Lima, north of Runway 12L/30R, aircraft larger than a Gulfstream VI are prohibited from making a right turn eastbound onto Taxiway Foxtrot. These measures ensure safety and efficiency in airport operations.
