    Lakeland Linder International Airport (IATA: LAL, ICAO: KLAL) is a public airport located five miles southwest of Lakeland, in Polk County, Florida. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) categorizes it as a national reliever facility for Tampa International Airport. The airport holds a Class 1 Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 139 operating certificate, which allows passenger airline flights.

    The airport features three runways: Runway 10/28, which is 8,500 feet (2,591 meters) long and surfaced with asphalt; Runway 5/23, measuring 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) with an asphalt surface; and Runway 8/26, which is 2,208 feet (673 meters) long and has a turf surface. In 2021, the airport recorded 128,576 aircraft operations, and 251 aircraft were based at the airport. The Lakeland VORTAC is located on the airfield, and Runways 10/28 and 5/23 are equipped with high-intensity runway lighting (HIRL) and P4L precision approach path indicator (PAPI) systems. Runway 10 is also equipped with a Category II/III Instrument Landing System (ILS) and a High Intensity Approach Light System with Sequenced Flashers (ALSF-2). Additionally, Runways 5/23 and 28 have published non-precision approaches. The airport has been a tower-controlled facility since the 1970s, with the FAA operating a Level I air traffic control tower under the FAA Contract Tower Program. The FAA has also installed an Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) ground station at the airport. For international operations, the airport is a US Customs user fee airport. The airport is also a USCBP user fee airport, with services available Thursday to Monday from 1530 to 2400Z. A fee is charged for operations outside of service hours.
